Eligibility Requirements - All entrants must:

• Be EWGA Chapter members in good standing.
• Have a verifiable Handicap Index not to exceed 40.4.
• Have played three 18-hole or six 9-hole (or a combination thereof) posted to their handicap record prior to June 1st, 2008.
• Conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified by the USGA Rules of Golf.
  
  

Attention Competitive Golfers- Save the Date and Important Qualifying information for the Cal Cup.

• Participant is an active member of EWGA-SMN.
• Participant will have participated in at LEAST 3 EWGA-SMN sponsored golf events by August 10 – events include: League Play Weekend and Week Day, Team Play and Scheduled Golf Outings.
• Participant will have a current handicap with a minimum of 5 rounds posted in 2008.
• Participant must qualify August 10 @ Chardonnay for a total of 12 spots – 3 low gross, 8 low net, 1 captain’s pick from the qualifier participants.
• The Captain of the Cal Cup team will be chosen by the qualifiers.
• The Captain will choose the 2 alternates from the qualifiers.

Here is your first chance to qualify. NCGA Associate Club Championships will be held on August 25th and 26th at Spyglass and Poppy Hills. Here’s how it goes. We will hold our club qualifier on Sunday, May 4th. Because EWGA will be involved in 2 events on that day, our qualifier will be virtual; that is, you can qualify at Rooster Run for league or at Poplar Creek for Team. If you want to play in NCGA competitions, email your gross score for May 4th to Sandy Boyd. I will then make a ranked list of qualifiers and go down the list to put our 4 person team together. Qualifying does not obligate you to compete, it just puts you on the list. If you commit to May 28th, you have to be available for the rest. We want to go all the way! Once our 4 person team is together, they will compete at the local qualifier on May 28th at Indian Valley. If they qualify on May 28th, they advance to the sectional qualifier on July 22nd at Poppy Ridge. If they qualify on July 22nd, they advance to the championship on August 25th and 26th. All handicaps are invited to play, but the maximum handicap allowed is 18.4. Cost is $240.00 per team for Indian Valley and Poppy Ridge and we will all pay our own way. The cost for the championship is not yet posted. Usually, carts are extra. There are 3 more competitions still to come; the Associate Club net amateur, the Associate Club 4 ball net and the Associate Club 4 ball net. I’m hoping we can use the original qualifier list to send representatives to all the competitions, but there might be another virtual qualifier in the future. If you were not able to make it to the Kick-Off on March 8th or you did not join our chapter until after the Kick-Off, you did not receive our 2008 Chapter Directory. Do not worry….this great directory will be available at our upcoming events so if you did not already need a reason to sign up for our events, now you have one.

During the month of April, I challenge each and every one of you to recruit at least one member. Our chapter will be competing with all of the other chapters in EWGA to recruit as many members as we can during the month of April. If our chapter has the highest percentage of members recruiting at least one member during this period in our division, EWGA will feature our chapter on its website and in the Par-Tee Line newsletter. In addition, our chapter will receive a cash prize to use for a victory celebration to recognize the chapter recruiters and the new members.

EVERY ONE WINS! For every new member recruited, our chapter will strengthen the EWGA, expand the network of professional woman in our chapter, help grow the game of golf, and receive national recognition.
