The EWGA Championship is a competition open to all EWGA members in good standing who have established a handicap index. The Series begins in the summer with a qualifying-round Chapter Championship. Winners advance to a semi-final round at the Sectional level, and Sectional winners go on to compete in the final round EWGA Championship in the fall.
In conjunction with San Geronimo Golf Course, the Chapter Championship Committee will be enforcing the local rules on tournament day. ALL competitors are responsible for knowing and understanding the local rules as well as all other USGA Rules of Golf.
Players will compete from different tees based on their handicaps. See Tee yardage information sheet.
GPS measuring devices are prohibited for use during this tournament. Penalty for using such devices will result in disqualification.
The Spirit of the Game - All players should conduct themselves in a considerate manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times. Conduct such as excessive use of vulgar language or aggressive behavior directed at another competitor, rules official, marshal, or Committee member is not in the Spirit of the Game. The first demonstration of such behavior will result in a one stroke penalty and the second incident will result in disqualification.
Eligibility Requirements - All entrants must:
- Be EWGA Chapter members in good standing
- Have a verifiable Handicap Index not to exceed 40.4
- Have played three 18-hole or six 9-hole (or a combination thereof) posted to their handicap record prior to June 1st, 2008
